USRA National Championship Summary
The USRA divides the US into 3 regions- Western, Central, and Eastern. Each Region follows International Rafting Federation (IRF) rules to determine a winner. Champions from each Region race annually at the USRA National Championship Race (“Nationals”), which determines the US team for the World Rafting Championships held at that time. For more information on rafting racing rules, visit the IRF page here. For more information on creating a team or joining an existing team in your area, visit the USA team page here and the IRF teams page here.
New Update to USRA: National Championships will be held every year like normal but will qualify for the next seasons WRC, example: 2015 R-4 National Championship will qualify for 2016 WRC, 2016 R-6 Nationals will qualify for 2017 WRC. This change was made to allow teams more time to train and fundraise before the WRC.
